The Computer Unit

The computer unit at S. Thomas' College Bandarawela is conducted by the Gateway Group. The unit was established in June 2005 and presently, a popular subject among the children.

There are two computer units in the school for both the Primary and Middle/Upper school students.

Established in 1986, Gateway has considerable experience in training and assessment that meets international standards. The organization has the distinction of producing educational programmes that have been certified or endorsed by leading training providers in the UK .

Gateway Kids School of Computing

Popularly referred to as the Kids School, the Gateway offers ICT education to children of 4 to 16 years throughout the island at their own centres as well as in partnership with leading independent schools. The courses are taken by over 12000 school children in Sri Lanka


Gateway Computer Pioneers

The NCC Education Computer Pioneers programme is a group of courses in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) that has been introduced to the school curriculum of S. Thomas' College Bandarawela. The programme enables children to develop computing skills and to become confident in the use of Information and Communication Technology from an early age. For children aged 4 to 14, there are ten courses based on attainment level within the British National Curriculum. For children aged 14 to 16, there are two courses based on preparing students for GIT and OL ICT Sri Lanka.
