Scouts: S. Thomas' College Bandarawela

Group Scout Leader: Mr. Thilak Jayasiri - ADC

· Scouts rally on every Wednesday where they are trained on Scouting.

· On the 28th of January 36 Scouts were enrolled and membership badges were awarded.

· Scouts provided First Aid assistance during the Sports meet.

· The Scout job week was carried out successfully.

· A Scout camp was conducted from the 31st of August to the 2nd of September with the participation of 65 scouts.

· A blood donation campaign was arranged at the Sri Pushparama Temple, Bandarawela

· An almsgiving was offered to the students of the Deaf and Dumb school at Kumbalwela, Bandarawela

· A Thomian Scout Day was conducted on the 4th of December with the participation of 180 Scouts.

· H.A. Tennakoon and H.S. Thambimuttu were awarded the President’s Award.

CUBBING

Teacher-in-charge: Mrs. Maheshi Perera – ADC Cubbing, Badulla

The 75 member Cub Pack rally every Wednesday. During the period under review cubs took part in the following events.

· A one day camp was held on the 11th of September to improve the skills for the Gold Star Award.

· A one day camp was held at the Holiday Resort under the guidance of the ADCs’ of the Kandy District.

· In November a Cub Scout parent’s day was organized as an awareness programme to promote Cubbing. The camp ended with a badge awarding ceremony.

· A Cub day named “Educational World Tour” was organized at the College Grounds with the support of the staff.

· 25 Cubs have completed all requirements for the Gold Star award.
