THE STUDENT CHRISTIAN MOVEMENT
Teacher-in-charge: Mr. S. Dason
The Student Christian Movement of S. Thomas’

in organizing programmes and activities to build a better understanding
among the student community.
The Annual Service of Nine Lessons and Carols was
once again held to a large gathering at the Keble Hall to mark the
season of Christmas. Another regular feature in the school calendar
has been the Easter Programme and this too was a tremendous success.
The students also planned some fun activities during the end of
the three terms where students and staff got together to enjoy some
games and competitions.
The Student Christian Movement also has sub-committees
to help out in organizing various programmes and they are as follows:
· Library Committee
· Garden Committee
· Teen Group

The above mentioned committees too help out in their
sections to make the Christian Movement much more active.
Finally I would like to take this opportunity to thank
our Headmaster, staff and all those who actively supported and guided
us to make our various programmes a success.

the ‘maiden voyage’ of this journey began in 2007.
This year too we had the same on the 5th of June 2009
at the Gymnasium.
There were 4 personalities to judge the competition.
The Bible Reading ability of the Christian Students,
from the Primary Section was judged by Ms. Violet Morrit and Thushara
Gayani two prominent Roman Catholic and Non Roman Catholic teachers
from two other schools.
And the middle and upper section was judged by Rev.
Fr. Sam Perera the Parish Priest of St. Mary’s Cathedral,
Badulla and Mr. Shanon Dason. Also Fr. Sam briefed the students
on the importance of reading the Bible and valuable instructions.
We thank God for His grace and guidance first of all,
to this our conception.
And our sincere thanks go to our Headmaster for his
support and guidance, to Madam Chandrasekera who is always there
for any assistance in this connection.

May God bless us with another year in order to carry
