Opening of the renovated Edirisinghe Dormitory

The renovated Edirisinghe Dormitory was blessed and declared open by Ven. D.R. Canagasabey, Archdeacon of Nuwara Eliya. The refurbishment of Edirisinghe Dormitory was completed in October 10th, 2008 with the support of friends in Great Britain.

Vani Vizha 2008

The Vani Vizha 2008 was held on October 3rd, 2008 in the Keble Memorial Hall. The chief guest for the occassion was Mr. P.P. Devaraj, International President of Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO).

All-Island Interschool Chess Championship

The students of the Chess Club of S. Thomas' College, Bandarawela participated at the All Island Interschool Chess Championship conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Chess Association and held at Royal College, Colombo in October 2008.

Zonal Chess Tournament

The students of the Chess Club of S. Thomas' College, Bandarawela participated at the Zonal Chess Tournament held at the Little Flower Convent, Bandarawela in September 2008 and were placed Champions in the under 10, 12, 14,16 and 20 age groups. The under 18 group were selected as Runners-up.

Annual Prize Giving

The Annual Prize Giving (2007) was held on August 8th 2008. The Chief Guests were Dr. Vijaya Corea and Mrs. Ranjini Corea.

SCM G2G August 2008

The Student Christian Movement (SCM) had their term-end get-to-gether (G2G) at the Keble Memorial Hall on August 05th, 2008. The programme was filled with drama, games and singing. Staff from all religions participated.

Bakthi Ghee Programme and Vesak Lantern Competition

The Buddist Student Association conucted the Bakthi Ghee Programme and Vesak Lantern Competition in June 2008.

Meelad-Un-Nabi Celebration 2008, May 2008

The Meelad-Un-Nabi Celebration was held on May 17th, 2008. The Chief Guests were Mr. Faisz Musthapha PC, former Sri Lankan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and former Chairman of the Sri Lankan National Human Rights Commission & Mrs. Musthapha. The programme was filled with performances by the students of the Islamic Society.

SCM Charity Service, March 2008

The Student Christian Movement (SCM) organised a charity service to a needy school in Poonagala, Bandarawela on the 19th of March 2008. Eleven students and four teachers took part. Stationery was distributed to the children and many games were organised.

Annual Sports Meet, February 2008

The annual sports meet was held on the 21st of February 2008 at the College grounds. The chief guest was Rt. Rev. Dr. J. Winston S. Fernando S.S.S., the Bishop of Badulla.
